About Kerfwood
A workshop, not a showroom.
Kerfwood started in 2015 in a single garage, with a table saw, a set of chisels and a waiting list of friends who wanted bookshelves.
Our story
We moved into a proper workshop in Reservoir in 2018, and there are six of us now: four joiners, a draftsperson and an installer who used to be a joiner.
We don't have a showroom. We have a workshop with sawdust on the floor, timber in the racks and your project on a bench, and you're welcome to come and see it any time.
A kerf is the gap a saw blade leaves as it cuts. It's the first mark on every board we use, and a reminder that the small details are the job.

Why Kerfwood
Everything we make is drawn for one room and built for one family. We visit, measure to the millimetre, draw it until it's right, then build it in our workshop, joints and all, before a single screw goes into your wall.
